What can you say about robins that most people don't
know already. They are the staple of the bird world. You could almost say that you could
find one in every yard. They don't eat from the feeders, they forage from the ground,
principally on earth worms and insects and in bushes for berries. There is a large lawn
planted next to a parkway near the hospital here and you can see the robins there in large
numbers feeding during the spring and summer. We are supposed to be in their permanent
range but we do not see them until spring every year so they are not a part of our winter
residents.
